Shubhankar started his journey with The Danceworx Performing Arts Academy in 2006 where he continued for a duration of 5 years. While learning Ballet at The Danceworx Delhi, he quickly caught the attention of his mentor Mr Yehuda Ma'or due to his natural abilities for Ballet. Being passionate about sharing his knowledge of Ballet, Shubhankar then became his mentor’s, Mr Yehuda’s, assistant.
Over the years, Shubhankar has also trained under exceptional dancers like Ashley Lobo, Asha Thomas, Ellen Davis, Gabor Sziraky, Jocelyn Horne, Johannes Bonig, Mariam Butchman, Sheila Hopkins & Yuko Harada. Shubhankar is also proud to be a mentor of Amiruddin Shah, first Indian to enter The Royal Ballet School, UK.
BALLET ADV BEGINNERS
Shubhankar’s advanced beginners class covers French pronunciation glossary of Ballet terminology, barré, advanced adage, turns, jumps, and combinations across the floor.
The class begins at the ballet barre, with prime focus on classical technique, executing combinations at different musical tempos and on different musical counts. This enables students to build strength and learn how to put several steps together while smoothly transferring their weight and holding correct posture and body placement.
Center work consists of an adagio, a tendu combination, jumps – including petit allegro and pirouette preparations and turns. Corner work consists of jumps, waltz and various traveling combinations kept in time to the music.
