Pia Sutaria is a graduate of the Professional Dancer's Teaching Diploma from the Royal Academy of Dance, U.K, (R.A.D) and is the founder and artistic director or "Institute of Classical and Modern Dance". She has been an integral part of Ashley Lobo’s “Danceworx Performing Arts Academy”, having been a core member of the company, choreographer, teacher and mentor, she has taught students of all ages at the Academy for over 8 years, and also taught in the U.K and Bhutan along with touring internationally with the “Navdhara India Dance Theatre” ( New York, Los Angeles, San Francisco, Canada, Turkey, Israel, Japan.)
During her study at the R.A.D in London, Pia realised the deep void that existed in vocational training for ballet in India. As a result, Pia’s vision is to make vocational training in dance accessible to young artists with exceptional potential who strive to create a self-sustaining career in dance. Moreover, to make Ballet, an otherwise elitist art form, to be within the grasp of anyone who wants to pursue it.
