Shakti Mohan

A dancing sensation born and raised in Delhi with her three sisters Neeti Mohan, Kriti Mohan and Mukti Mohan, went to a boarding school at the age of 7 to Birla Girls Public school, Pilani, Rajasthan. She started training in bharatnatyam and continued for 8 years along with her studies.


Shakti topped the Mumbai University, St. Xaviers College in the year 2006, this gave her a boost to pursue IAS as a career.


Terence Lewis Dance Foundation Scholarship Trust offered Shakti a three year scholarship in dance , she continued with her masters in political science along with her dance training. Shakti, with her growing love for contemporary dance form was offered a position in Terence Lewis office for her administrative skills.


After her graduation from prestigious dance school, shakti took her dance to the national level by auditioning for the most watched dance reality show "Dance India Dance" season 2. Shakti emerged a winner and was also awarded the performer of the series.


Shakti Mohan with the fame and popularity continued with her dance training in Mumbai and Vienna. She also went to Broadway Dance Center, New York to train in Contemporary and Hip hop, leaving the dance based fiction show "Dil dosti Dance" on channel V where she played a protagonist. Shakti enthralled the audience with her performance in the song "Aare Pritam Pyaare" from Rowdy Rathore.





Shakti has performed for various award nights and performances in India and all over the world like USA, Dubai, Malaysia, Mauritius, Macau, Maldives, Israel, Egypt, Singapore, South Africa, Australia, Bangkok, Germany, Norway to name a few. Shakti Mohan has been the face of Vaseline healthy white body lotion for the year 2011-12 and Clean and Clear Face Wash 2015.


Shakti Mohan's one of the calendar images from 2013 and the Move video became an ad campaign for Lufthansa 2013. She also featured in an Apple Ipad Tv and print commercial in the year 2013.


To contribute to the dance industry in India, she conceptualized and launched her own dance calendar called NrityaShakti in 2012 in the presence of her mentors Terence Lewis, Remo D souza, Sandeep Soparkar and Ganesh Acharya.After a huge success, NrityaShakti - Dancing with Gods Calendar 2013 was launched in the presence of legendary Kathak dancer Sitara Devi and Terence Lewis. Nritya Shakti's most unique and appreciated calendar was launched worldwide in 2014 titled "Stand Out"Shakti was the chosen artist to represent India amongst the most amazing talents from all over the world for BBC World Collaboration Culture series.Shakti was recently seen performing for the most popular dance celebrity show in the world Jhalak Dikhalaja - Dancing with the stars 2014.


Shakti charmed the judges Madhuri Dixit, Karan Johar, Remo D Souza and the audiences all over India and abroad with her breathtaking performances. Shakti Mohan is currently featuring as a judge on a highest rated and loved dance show on Star Plus Titled "Dance Plus" Season 1 & 2.

Shakti Mohan launched a dance brand titled Nritya Shakti in 2011 under which three dance calendars, online tutorials and world tour of dance workshops have been launched successfully.


Shakti Mohan after gaining accolades across the world for her excellence in Indian contemporary dance, successfully conducted short series of dance workshops in eight cities around the world in 2015. Nritya Shakti World Tour is back this year and will host in Texas, Virginia, Seattle, Florida, San Francisco,Hyderabad, Pune and Bangalore, to provide the students with valuable knowledge about dance and showcase her experience as a performer.


Shakti Mohan continues with her journey to bring respect to dance in India and getting it recognition as a dignified art form.
